MR. PRESIDENT, DO NOT CLOSE THE GOVERNMENT BUT DO CLOSE THE BORDER…PUBLIC LAW 414!
Do a Continuing Resolution to keep the Government funded. A shut down is hard on those involved. I went through what was the longest shut down (1996) until the last and it was financially tough but it also screwed up 401 transfers, retirement plans, home purchases, college funding commitments and many more important personal decisions, not just groceries and bills!
Close the Border under the 1952 Bill on Immigration and Naturalization by Proclamation only, until barricades can be built. Take funds from wherever possible (unnecessary, funded programs) that the President has power to do by EO. Nixon created the EPA by EO. If that is all that is holding it open, then dissolve EPA by EO and direct all those funds to the Border, to study the Environmental Impact of Steel Fencing. If possible redirect the $5 billion plus that goes to the UN IPCC for Global Warming studies, to the Border Barricades. They misuse the funds to “prove” Global Warming instead of studying their name sake , Climate Control. NASA called the IPCC’s most quoted studies based on the 18 year model, “useless” and of no value!
There must be places the President can draw emergency funds to enforce Public Law 414! Only allow those into the US who have an existing, legal reason to be here and KEEP THE BORDER CLOSED until all the wall is built…period! That will get the left the incentive they need to come up with a PERMANENT INS Laws that make sense. Just CLOSE the damn Border.
THERE IS NO FEDERAL COURT IN THE US THAT HAS THE AUTHORITY TO OVERRULE THE ENACTMENT OF 414!!!
Let them run to the 9th Circus and file, have DOJ fight it but ignore the Injunction and start building and keep building the fence. It is necessary for barriers in order to enforce PL 414! They cannot stop the enforcement of that law with any court orders!!! It can only be stopped if the President allows it to be stopped. That was Congress’s intent by making it Enforceable by Proclamation only without an EO, to avoid the cumbersome interference of any judicial jurisdiction!
