The Music of David Bowie Performed by The BPO - 3.30 @ Kleinhans

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra offers a concert to celebrate the late David Bowie’s musical legacy. A major figure in popular music for five decades, he sold over 140 million records, making him one of the world’s best selling musical artists. As a warm up to the concert, Buffalo News rock critic Jeff Miers will lead a panel discussion at 6:3pm on Bowie’s life and times.  Bowie passed away on January 16, 2016 of liver cancer but not before earning five platinum and seven gold records in the United States alone, with eleven of them reaching number one on the Billboard charts.  The David was constantly re-inventing himself and was known for his outrageous floor show, which included a group of fictional characters such as Ziggy Stardust and The Thin White Duke, Bowie’s longtime producer. Expect to hear several iconic Bowie classics including Space Oddity, Young Americans, Fame, Let’s Dance and many more. Tony Visconti summed up Bowie best by saying “He was an extraordinary man, full of life and love.” Experience that love with the BPO at Kleinhans Music Hall.
