The Colorado band Paper Bird not only writes beautiful songs, they’ve created a sound that brings a kind of spiritual peace upon hearing them. The three vocalists, Carleigh Aikins, Sarah Anerson and keyboard player Genevieve Patterson have developed a close harmony style that is delicate and fragile and so pleasing you don’t even care what the words are. You just want to hear those voices. The band is excellent in supporting the vocal treasures they’re working with. Paper Bird’s new self titled album will be available September 9th and I expect they will be showcasing some of that material at their 9th Ward show. If you love music this is worth checking out.
