The Royal Winnipeg Ballet brings Bram Stoker’s Dracula to life under the inventive choreography of Mark Godden. Set to a glorious score by Classical master Gustav Mahler, with opulent sets and costumes, flying bats, gargoyles and mysterious transformations, RWB’s “Dracula” is gothic ballet at its best. For over one hundred years, the public has been both horrified and fascinated with the character “Dracula” and this ballet portrays those emotions that in dance. The 77 year old Royal Winnipeg Ballet holds the double distinction of being Canada’s premiere ballet company and the longest continuously operating ballet company in North America. They have garnered both critical and audience acclaim with their versatility, technical excellence and a captivating style. They have performed “Dracula” since 1998. Josh Reynolds stars as Dracula and the beautiful ballerinas Elizabeth Lamont and Sophia Lee, his victims.w
