Seamus Kennedy - Sun 3.13
8pm, Tralf Music Hall, 622 Main St, $23 (852-2860/tralfmusichall.com)
Seamus Kennedy is an Irish tour-de-force of comedy singing and storytelling. He has a large repertoire of musical styles that includes traditional Irish music, classic country and western, Scottish ballads and “children’s songs for the wee ones ,” as he puts it. Originally from Belfast, Kennedy has been entertaining audiences all over the United States for over four decades. His strong audience participation skills have helped him create a loyal fan base everywhere he goes. His new CD called Ireland’s 32, Volume One, is filled with jokes between the tracks, interaction from the audience, and above all just clean fun. Seamus plays the guitar and the bodhran, a traditional Irish drum in concert. He jokes about his career by saying that “my career is like prostitution. You start doing it for a few friends and the next thing you know, you are doing it for money.” Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day week with a true Irish legend.
