TCM Brings Ernie Kovacs Back to Television for Centennial & UCLA Film & TV Archive Honors Kovacs with 2-Night Program

Ernie Kovacs centennial year is off to a pretty amazing head start. On January 23, Television’s Original Genius would have been 100 years old. And Turner Classic Movies is devoting a whole night of programming to Ernie on his actual birthday by showing 4 of his films and bringing 3 of his iconic and ground-breaking ABC Specials back to television for one night only.
What’s more is that this Friday and Saturday, Jan 18 & 19, the UCLA Film and Television Archive in Los Angeles will be presenting two evenings of Ernie programming entitled Kovacsland Forever: Ernie Kovacs Centennial to the Billy Wilder Theater in Westwood. On Friday, the archive will screen a variety of Kovacs clips and programs on the big screen. Some of his most iconic comedy and some very rare clips will be screened. The evening will also feature a panel discussion with Moderator Susan King and yours truly, who runs the Kovacs estate.
