The Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra opens its 60th Season with music by Bartok, Bruckner, Beethoven and Mendelssohn.

Ansgarius Aylward, Music Director of the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra and Assistant Concertmaster of the Buffalo Philharmonic, has programmed Bruckner’s Symphony #4, mvt 1, Beethoven’s Leonore Overture #3, and the Overture to Midsummer’s Night Dream by Mendelssohn.

The Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra is the premier youth orchestra of Western New York, featuring talented young musicians from 20 different school districts, including Niagara County, Cattaraugus County and Erie County.

One of our Senior Concerto winners, Alexander Neubert, will be performing Vivaldi’s Bassoon Concerto in e minor.  Alex is a senior at Kenmore East High School and plans to major in music.

Also on the program is the 3rd mvt. of the Bartok Divertimento for strings.

All are invited to Lippes Concert Hall on November 4th, 3pm, to hear our exceptional students perform under the masterful guidance of their music director, Ansgarius Aylward.

Tickets are $10 – adults/ $5 – students and are available at the door.
