Umphrey’s McGee is an American progressive rock band from South Bend, Indiana. Although the band is part of the jam band scene, like Phish and The Grateful Dead, they are much more influenced musically by progressive rock bands such as Yes, King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and early Genesis. Umphrey’s McGee experiments with many genres including rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, electronic, bluegrass and folk. The band was formed in 1997 and Brendan Bayliss (guitar, vocals), Joel Cummins (keyboards, vocals), and Ryan Stasik (bass guitar) are all original members. Since then the band added Andy Farag (percussion) Jake Cinninger (guitar, vocals) and Kris Myers (drums, vocals) to complete their current working band. Their latest album “The London Sessions” was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in 2015.
