Love That Dirty Water
by Halina Biernacki
I used to enjoy relaxing around Niagara Falls. It’s not very relaxing now that this article (“Home Economics,” Artvoice v10n17) reports that four billion gallons of tainted H2O (sewage) is dumped into the Niagara River each year. Not much fun to watch sewage spilling into the Niagara River.
If it’s all true, this explains why 70,000 have left the Buffalo area in the past ten years. “Adult supervision” is needed to update this area! Perhaps Bruce Fisher could contact the New York State field office of The Nature Conservancy and organize a student/citizen action group and demand clean water rights.
