The Poetry of Brother Augustine Towey. 7:30pm. 24 local performers read and record the poetry of Brother Augustine Towey, C.M., culled from his recently published collected poems, The Poem You Asked For Readers include Vincent O’Neill, Maryalice Demler, John Fredo, Josephine Hogan, Darleen Pickering Hummert, Richard Hummert, Lona LaChiusa, Lisa Ludwig, David Lundy, Gerry Maher, Sarielys Matos, Andrew Kenneth Moss and Brian Mysliwy, Mary Kate O’Connell, Maureen Porter, Richard Satterwhite, Norm Sham, Chris Standart and Paul Todaro, Sharon Watkinson, Maggie and Tom Zindle, and Doug Zschiegner. Planned Obsolescence: A Reading and Media Event. 8pm. An attempt to broaden the definition of poetics to include works executed in visual and/or audio media. This one-night event considers notions of ephemerality through imaginative uses of obsolete technology, or technology that will soon be obsolete. Soundlab, 110 Pearl Street.
