Barbara Eden, the Santa Monica-born actress who became one of television's most beloved icons playing a 2,000-year-old genie named Jeannie opposite Larry Hagman for five seasons on NBC from 1965 to 1970, turns 95 years old today, Sunday August 23.

Eden was born Barbara Jean Morehead in Tucson, Arizona in 1931, grew up in San Francisco and broke into television with a recurring role on The Johnny Carson Show in 1956, long before Carson went to the Tonight Show. I Dream of Jeannie made her a household name.
She had a film career alongside Elvis Presley, Flaming Star, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and later starred in the sitcom Harper Valley P.T.A. She has been married to architect Jon Eicholtz since 1991.
In April she posted an Easter photo wearing bunny ears alongside Eicholtz. Her fans called her ageless. Someone in the comments wrote "You must be a genie for real!" She has heard that one before. She is 95 today and still very much here
