Bank Transfer Day
by Geoff Kelly
On Saturday, November 5, the Occupiers of Niagara Square will join Buffalo First!, the Coalition for Economic Justice, the Clean Air Coalition of Western New York, PUSH Buffalo, and a host of other activists to promote Bank Transfer Day: a movement encouraging consumers to move their accounts out of the big banks that the Occupy movement blames for the financial crisis an into local credit unions.
There will be a march beginning at 10am at the HSBC branch at Elmwood Avenue and Utica Street, to the Bank of America branch a block south, and ending in Niagara Square, where the occupiers will hold their general assembly at noon.
