Correcting the Record
by Hyeyoung Shin
As an artist I’m always ready to have a critical point of view but when I read the review of my work (“Artscene,” Artvoice v10n47) I can only see the lack of information of my work.
I don’t know how he got this idea, however it is sexist opinion on his part. I can not believe this is happening without any notice.
I am extremely disappointed by this article.
If the writer wrote for his own space to reveal his opinion of my work I really do not have interest in that matter. However, this article has been published in a popular newspaper.
This opinion is based on his own assumption not on fact. That is why I could not ignore it.
There is no relation between the foot-binding culture that the writer mentioned and my work.
