Friday, December 6: Allentown First Friday Roundup

The First Friday gallery walk in Buffalo’s Allentown neighborhood is pretty great every month, but this Friday, December 6, promises to be extra special: a light covering of snow to beautify the streets and a plethora of participating venues that will keep their doors open late, inviting the public to view (and perhaps even to buy) the work of local artists and artisans. Among those venues: Buffalo Big Print (Jane Marinsky’s paintings), CG Jung Center (Mary Weig’s paintings), Glow Gallery (lots of art, everything under $100!), Indigo Gallery (art of all kinds), Studio Hart (where you’ll find work by this week’s AV cover artist, Tom Holt, in a multi-artist invitational show called Rainbows & Unicorns), Benjaman Gallery (a salon-style exhibit of nearly everything they’ve got), Pausa (art by Laurie Tanner, music Gregory Wisniewski & Tokyo and The Boy), Quaker Bonnet (photography of Dinesh Joseph), and no doubt others that you’ll discover as you stroll along Allen and Elmwood. It’s perfect gift-shopping opportunity, with plenty of places in between to stop for a drink, a bite to eat, and a little live music. Turn to “Artviews” on page 16 or visit www.firstfridaysallentown.com for more information. Openings begin at 6pm.
