My ex-girlfriend (of a long, long time ago) and I are friends. About a year ago she broke up with the guy she’d been living with for about five years. It was ugly, and she was badly hurt and very angry about the breakup. I, for one, have remained cordial with her ex. We know each other professionally, see each other once in a while as a result, and get along well.
