Nia Long Receivs Her Hollywood 'Walk Of Fame' Star
Nia Long received the 2,857th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday morning at 6150 Hollywood Boulevard, the same boulevard she used to ride past on the bus as a child while her mother drove alongside it. That detail gave the ceremony its emotional center.
Long was honored in the Motion Pictures category, with producer Graham King and Snoop Dogg as guest speakers. Snoop arrived wearing a custom jacket with Long's face printed on it, got laughs from the crowd and paid genuine tribute to her cultural impact. Her mother Talita Long and her two sons, Massai Dorsey II and Kez Udoka, joined her at the podium.
Long said the four points surrounding her star each represent something: God, her sons, her mother and love. She explained that Love Jones, one of her most iconic films, holds particular personal meaning because it opened on her late father's birthday.
Her career spans more than three decades and some of the most beloved films in Black cinema, Boyz n the Hood, Friday, Soul Food, Love Jones and The Best Man. Her most recent film was Michael, the 2026 Lionsgate biopic where she played Katherine Jackson. She is now in post-production on Don't Ever Wonder, a Netflix romantic drama reuniting her with Larenz Tate.
