Squeaky Wheel Reel Queer Film Series: Club King

Hallwalls Contemporary Art’s Center | 7pm | $5-8

For the past 20 years, Mario Diaz has crafted his own iconic image as the premier LGBT nightlife king, throwing some of the sexiest and wildest parties from New York to LA. Filmmaker Jon Bush combines Diaz’s personal reflections with candid interviews and archival footage from the East and West Coast’s hottest queens, go-go boys, and singers, resulting in a dizzyingly wild ride.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Kleinhans Music Hall | 8pm | $35

Just Buffalo Literary Center and Hallwalls welcome Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to Babel. Adichie grew up in Nigeria. Her work has been translated into thirty languages and has appeared in various publications including The New Yorker, Granta, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and Zoetrope.

Almost 3 years in the making, Cheap. Boozey. Dangerous, the debut album of Randle & the Late Night Scandals, has been one of the most highly anticipated LPs to come out of the Buffalo area this year. Joining them will be Alison Pipitone, Kathryn Koch, and Wolf.

Starting on Friday, The Studio at Waiting Room will be the home to Rock Radio Karaoke. Every week, you’ll be able to sing some of your favorite rock radio songs on stage with a live backing band.

Katrina Leskanich

The Forvm | 7pm | $15-$20

The Grammy nominated singer, Katrina and The Waves released the hit ‘Walking on Sunshine’ 30 years ago. The song was a massive international success and helped launch her music career, and has since released dozens of albums. On Friday night, she’ll be bringing her solo set to The Forvm at 7pm.

Buffablog 5th Birthday Party

Come and celebrate Buffablog’s 5th birthday with a party at Nietzsche’s. Expect a great lineup from some of buffalo’s favorite indie rock bands such as Wooden Waves, Applennium, Comfy, Difficult Night, M.A.G.S., and Zak Ward.

Kung Fu & Twiddle

Iron Works | 9pm | $15-$20

Kung Fu is band that’s been popularizing their unique sound, which many call “NU-SION.” It’s essentially a fashionable combination of classic funk, EDM, and soul. They’ll be performing with the rock, jazz, and bluegrass quartet, Twiddle at Iron Works this Wednesday night.
