Bubblefest

The Science Museum’s annual suds-stravaganza has reached its fourth year celebrating the science and magic of bubbles, be they the soap-based variety or something more sinister (methane, anyone?) This day-long outdoor/indoor event is edu--tainment for all ages, including music, food vendors, and the following bubble-related activities: Giant bubble tubes, body bubbles, the latest in bubble technology (including a best bubble-maker contest), “bubbling sun” solar observation with the Buffalo Astronomical Society, a bubble art room, and even ‘tiny bubbles” activities for the littlest attendees. Special guests include the Bubble Man from Allen Street (don’t forget to say “thank you!”), musicians Susan Rozler and Dave Ruch, and celebrity guest star Casey Carle (pictured). Carle is a bubble expert/performance artist, Cirque du Soleil consultant, and author of BubbleOlogy. He’ll present his one-man show, BubbleMania: Science, Art, and Comedy at 11:30am, 1pm, and 2:30pm in the Museum Auditorium, along with scheduled signings of BubbleOlogy: A Hands-On Science Kit, which is available in the Museum Gift Shop. All activities are included in the admission price, which comes with an all-access bubble bracelet. It’s a bubble blow-out!

10am-4pm. Buffalo Museum of Science, 1020 Humboldt Pkwy (896-5200 / www.sciencebuff.org)
