Buffalo Gay Men's Chorus holds auditions this week
by Bryan Whitley-Grassi
Do you like to sing? Would you like to be part of Buffalo’s music scene? Then join Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus for their annual open call auditions on Tuesday, August 26 at 7pm. This year’s auditions will take place at the Unitarian Universalists Church of Buffalo located at 695 Elmwood Avenue.
The Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus (BGMC) has made a splash in the Buffalo music scene and continues to grow in accomplishments and talent each year. Drawing on a musical tradition of all male choruses, BGMC takes a unique approach to entertaining crowds at venues across the city.
BGMC director Barbara Wagner has received awards and recognition for her work with the group and promises to bring something new and interesting to the stage each year, as only a gay men’s chorus could. BGMC’s members are a very diverse group of individuals who enjoy music, friendship, and performing for crowds of their adoring fans. This group has been revolutionary in their steadfast approach to breaking down barriers within our local community and this is your chance to take part in the excitement.
This is a simple pitchmatching voice placement audition and all men over 18 are welcome. There will be a rehearsal following the auditions so please plan to stay until 10PM. For more information, please contact Artistic Director Barbara Wagner at wagschoir@aol.com.
