Gov. Cuomo & NY Dems launch campaign to stop Republicans’ who support NRA

New York – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Democratic Party have launched a new statewide campaign to build on New York’s record of having the toughest anti-gun laws in the nation, and block Congressional Republicans ‘concealed carry’ proposal.

The TV, digital, and social media campaign will engage voters to support the governor and his gun agenda – which includes banning domestic abusers from owning guns and highlight how 7 Republican Members of Congress from New York  have “A” ratings from the NRA.

Republicans who will be targeted in this anti-NRA campaign include:

  • Claudia Tenney
  • John Faso
  • John Katko
  • Lee Zeldin
  • Elise Stefanik
  • Chris Collins
  • Tom Reed

New York under Governor Cuomo has been a leader in combating gun ownership, passing the SAFE Act which requires universal background checks, increases penalties for people who own guns that are illegal in New York State, and establishes the toughest anti gun laws in the country.

Following the shooting in Parkland, Florida in February, Governor Cuomo formed a coalition with neighboring states to intercept firearms that are illegal in New York State. No report as yet on how many guns have been confiscated.

Governor Cuomo said, “Sandy Hook was one of our darkest days. We grieved, we held our children a little tighter, and then we took action, passing the toughest, strongest protections against gun violence in the nation. However, Washington Republicans have another priority: NRA campaign contributions. They have obstructed universal background checks and are trying to force a ‘concealed carry’ bill into law that is reckless and immoral. Congressional Republicans who aid and abet the NRA will be held accountable for placing domestic violence victims and our children in harm’s way.”

Earlier this week, Gov. Cuomo joined New York City students at their ‘die-in’ protests of gun ownership. Gov. Cuomo was protected as usual with armed guards eliminating the need for at least him to own or carry a concealed gun.

Armed guards protect Gov. Cuomo so that he does not have to carry a gun.

Gov Cuomo joins students in die-in after they walked out of school in Lower Manhattan. Students chant “enough is enough” about gun violence and school shootings. Armed guards protected the governor at all times during the anti-gun protest.

Here is a sample of what voters can expect to see. One has to love the way they selected some of the least flattering pictures of Republicans.
