The Lancaster Opera House announces its upcoming production of The Pajama Game, which opens on March 8, 2024, and runs through March 24, 2024, with performances Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays 3/9 and 3/16 at 7:30 pm, Saturday 3/23 at 2:30 pm, and Sundays at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $42 for adults, $40 for seniors (62 and above), and $25 for students. The theater is located at 21 Central Avenue, Lancaster, NY 14086.

The Pajama Game was awarded the 1955 Tony for Best Musical and, over half a century later, claimed the award for Best Revival of a Musical, proving that the story is truly timeless. With an energetic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (Damn Yankees), The Pajama Game is brimming with songs and dances that have become musical theater standards, including “Hey There,” “Steam Heat,” and “Hernando’s Hideaway.”

Conditions at the Sleep Tite Pajama Factory are anything but peaceful as sparks fly between new superintendent Sid Sorokin, and Babe Williams, the leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers plan to strike for a 7 1/2 cent pay increase, setting off not only a conflict between management and labor, but a battle of the sexes as well.

The show features Luke Halferty and Sydney Conrad as Sid Sorokin and Babe Williams; Joey Bucheker and Alexandra Montesano as Hines and Gladys; Nathan Andrew Miller and Ashleigh Chrisena Ricci as Prez and Mae; David C. Mitchell as Hasler; Mary Bellanti as Mabel, and, in supporting roles: Mark Eckstein, Joe Greenan, Michelle Holden, Liz Klimek, Megan Mahaney, Jon May, Heather Reed, Matt Rittler, Daniel Warman, Emily Weber, and Michael Wells.

The show is directed by David Bondrow, with music direction by Fran Landis, and choreography by Timmy Goodman. The production is sponsored in part by Hodgson Russ llp.
