Sony Pictures released the trailer Wednesday for Ghost Soldier, an action thriller starring Jim Caviezel as Henry "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a reclusive former Special Forces soldier and advanced weapons developer living quietly off the grid until a powerful foreign corporation arrives to seize his Wyoming community's land.
Fitz goes to war. The tagline: "He's not a threat. He's a guarantee."
Directed by William Eubank, who made the well-reviewed Land of Bad with Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth in 2024, the film casts Caviezel in familiar territory: a morally driven man of action who protects the vulnerable against powerful outside forces.
He played Jesus in The Passion of the Christ, Tim Ballard in Sound of Freedom, and now a one-man army with prototype weapons that his enemies have never seen.
The supporting cast includes Garret Dillahunt, Shea Whigham and Olivia Thirlby.
"I want to play men who'll sacrifice for what they believe," Caviezel told Fox News. "Audiences are hungry for heroes."
Ghost Soldier opens in theaters November 6, 2026 rated PG-13 for strong violence, some bloody images and language, two weeks after Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 drops October 23 and three weeks before GTA 6 launches November 19. It is a very busy fall for action content.
