Mark Donnelly's Photographs at Chow Chocolat
by Jill Greenberg
On The Waterfront
35 Miles: Fluid Connections is Dr. Mark D. Donnelly’s photographic celebration of Buffalo’s dynamic waterfront. Donnelly’s photographs capture the expansive, sweeping quality that makes these scenes of Buffalo’s natural beauty so sublime. Choosing local landscapes such as the downtown Buffalo skyline, Niagara Falls, and the Erie Canal Terminus, Donnelly makes an effort to visually connect the drops from lake-to-lake of the powerful force that binds our community together.
As an award-winning photographer, Donnelly’s artwork has appeared in dozens of regional exhibitions and galleries, including the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Burchfield Penney Art Center, CEPA, Rodman Arts Centre, and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. In support of Buffalo’s unique and essential arts and cultural community, Donnelly will donate 50 percent of the sales from his exhibit to the Give for Greatness campaign (www.giveforgreatness.org).
35 Miles: Fluid Connections opens with a reception on Friday, April 15, 5-8pm, at Chow Chocolat (731 Main Street). The exhibit will be on view through May 31.
