Coleston Loveland Held Without A Catch As Bears Score 59

The Chicago Bears scored 59 points Sunday, their most since 1980, put up 552 yards, had eight touchdown passes and Caleb Williams played one of the best games of his career.

And Colston Loveland, the Bears' leading receiver last season and a first-round tight end in most fantasy drafts, caught zero passes on two targets.

Williams threw behind an open Loveland in the third quarter for an incompletion and targeted him once more without success.

Backup Cole Kmet stepped in and made his presence felt, catching two passes for 35 yards and a gorgeous 22-yard touchdown. The volume that fantasy managers projected toward Loveland went almost entirely elsewhere.

The Bears won by 22. D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai both topped 100 rushing yards. Rome Odunze was active despite a week of calf concerns.

Caleb Williams became the first player in Bears franchise history with 200-plus passing yards, two-plus passing touchdowns, 50-plus rushing yards and two-plus rushing scores in a single game. All of that happened and Loveland still had nothing to show for it.

Week 2 brings the Vikings to Chicago. Loveland had 58 catches, 713 yards and six touchdowns last season. One blank game is a blip. The fantasy community is not treating it that way on this particular Monday.
