Ceedee Lamb Finds The Endzone In Dallas Opener

CeeDee Lamb's Week 1 was a tale of two things, a franchise milestone and a muted performance.

The Cowboys' star wide receiver caught five of his eight targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in Dallas's 28-20 loss to the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday Night Football, but the 44 yards were his fewest in any game since Thanksgiving 2024.

The touchdown itself was a quality play, Dak Prescott put a perfect back-shoulder pass on a 1-yard third-and-goal situation, and Lamb outmuscled Giants cornerback Deonte Banks to haul it in and tie the game at 7-7 in the second quarter.

The scoring grab moved Lamb to 42 career receiving touchdowns, passing Billy Joe Dupree for eighth on the Cowboys' all-time list.

But the overall night never got going. Lamb drew a couple of pass interference penalties that helped Dallas move the chains, but he never had a gain longer than 15 yards.

With Isaiah Likely dominating opposite him and Javonte Williams providing two touchdowns of his own, the Cowboys' offense still couldn't overcome a Giants squad that ran for 165 yards. Lamb bounces back in Week 2 when Dallas hosts Washington.
