Daniel Jones Says He's 'Confident' After Week 1 Blowout Loss

Daniel Jones made his first regular season appearance since tearing his Achilles in December 2025, and the Colts got blown out 41-23 by the Baltimore Ravens at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Indianapolis opened the game with a crisp nine-play, 65-yard touchdown drive that raised hopes. Then Baltimore scored 28 unanswered points, racked up 506 total yards and controlled the ball for more than 35 minutes.

Jones finished 19-of-31 for 166 yards, one touchdown and one interception while absorbing nine hits and two sacks behind an offensive line that gave him little time. Jonathan Taylor ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns to provide the lone consistent bright spot.

Zay Flowers, who had 150 first-half yards before leaving with a hamstring injury, helped Baltimore's offense take control.

Jones was measured but defiant afterward. "We weren't able to play at the level that we expect from ourselves," he said. "We'll see where we came up short. But we're still confident we got the guys to do it, got the system to do it, the scheme to do it. I think we'll be ready to take a step forward."

The Colts travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs in Week 2, not the easiest path to finding that step forward.
