Frankie Muniz, 40, posted a candid and painful Instagram update Friday, two months after announcing his separation from wife Paige Price after a decade of marriage, describing a personal rock bottom that surprised even him.

"The last 6 weeks of my life have been a nightmare I'm praying to wake up from," he wrote under a photo of himself on a beige couch. "Everything felt heavy, unclear, and like it was falling apart at the same time. I wouldn't wish this season on anyone."

In August he had posted on X that he had "nowhere to hide" and that having a broken heart meant his heart was "physically aching," adding that he would "rather break my back again," a reference to the 2009 race car crash that fractured his spine and multiple other bones. The posts had been worrying fans for weeks before Friday's more direct statement.

Muniz and Price announced their split July 1, posting a video of their family dancing together, which drew backlash and was subsequently deleted. They share a five-year-old son, Mauz. Muniz said in the announcement they had grown in ways that made their relationship feel strongest as a deep friendship. Price commented on Friday's post in support of him.

Muniz is best known for Malcolm in the Middle, a role he reprised in the 2026 revival miniseries, and is now a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver.
