Lil Durk Acquitted Of All Charges In His Federal Murder-For-Hire Trial
A Los Angeles federal jury deliberated three days before finding Lil Durk, the 33-year-old Grammy-winning Chicago rapper born Durk Banks, not guilty on all charges Friday in his murder-for-hire trial.
He was acquitted of conspiracy, stalking resulting in death and murder for hire in connection with the August 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center that killed Quando Rondo's cousin Saviay'a Robinson.
Banks hung his head and cried as the verdict was read. His wife India Royale and his mother embraced in the gallery behind him.
"Twenty-two months ago, Durk and I made an agreement that we would make history with the greatest verdict in this country, and it happened today," his attorney Drew Findling said outside the courthouse. "The shackles must come off, and he must walk free so that he can come home to his beautiful family."
The shackles did not come off, not yet. Banks will remain in federal custody pending a separate racketeering trial that was severed from this case before it began.
He has been jailed since his October 2024 arrest. His co-defendants Deandre Wilson and David Lindsey were acquitted on murder-for-hire but convicted on stalking charges and face life in prison. Machine Gun Kelly and Ye attended the trial in support of Durk.
