Miss America 2027 Crowned In Florida
Regan Hutsell is Miss America 2027. The 25-year-old Houston native was crowned Sunday September 6 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, the first time Miss America has been held in South Florida, a location the organization has now committed to through 2028, becoming the 99th woman to wear the crown and sash and winning $50,000 in tuition scholarship money.
Hutsell's path to the crown is not a typical one. She started dancing at four years old, trained at the Feijoo Ballet School in Texas and at 18 joined the Radio City Rockettes, performing during the 2019 holiday season at Radio City Music Hall.
She then joined the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2021, giving her professional credits in two of the most demanding performance institutions in the country before she ever competed in a pageant.
She won Miss Texas 2026 on June 27 in Richardson and arrived at nationals as a serious threat.
She made good on that. During the talent competition at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts earlier in the week she performed a jazz number to "Le Jazz Hot" from Victor/Victoria — winning the preliminary talent award.
She also won a preliminary fitness award. On Sunday she won five finalist slots, including Louisiana, Utah, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and Texas, before Hutsell was announced as the winner and outgoing Miss America Cassie Donegan, who represented New York, placed the crown on her head.
Her community service initiative is called "Your Body Is Your Home," a program focused on body image and physical and mental well-being. Her reign begins immediately.
