Josh Duhamel is finally talking about his divorce from Fergie.
The Transformers actor, 53, opened up on The Skinny Confidential podcast on March 2, offering his most direct explanation yet for why he and the Black Eyed Peas singer, 50, ended their eight-year marriage.
“We’re just very different,” Duhamel told host Lauryn Evarts Bosstick. “She and I just have different views of the world. And that’s OK.”

“She’s a great mom,” he said. “Very kind, very non-confrontational — thank God — so we have a good relationship.”
He didn’t stop there. Duhamel also addressed how Fergie gets along with his current wife, model Audra Mari, 32, whom he married in North Dakota in September 2022.
“She and Audra have a great relationship,” he said. “They’re both very different in a lot of ways but both really, really great women.”
Duhamel Says He Has No Regrets
Duhamel was married to Fergie from 2009 until their separation in 2017. They finalized their divorce in 2019. Together they share 12-year-old son Axl Jack.
Asked whether he has any regrets, his answer was immediate. “I have no regrets about it. We have a beautiful son.”
This isn’t the first time Duhamel has reflected on the marriage. In a 2023 interview with Graham Bensinger, he was equally candid about what really happened between them.
“There wasn’t anything wrong with it,” he said at the time. “We had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.”
He also admitted that Fergie’s level of fame was something he never fully adjusted to, even during the height of their relationship.
“I never really got comfortable with it,” he said. “I’m just not a guy who is comfortable going to red carpets and doing all the Hollywood stuff.”
Fergie was one of the biggest pop stars on the planet during their marriage. “Fergalicious.” “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” She even performed a Super Bowl halftime performance with the Black Eyed Peas in 2011.
Duhamel was a working actor with real credits, but the scale of her fame was a different universe. By his own admission, he never quite found his footing in it.

Duhamel has moved on. He and Audra Mari, whom he started dating in 2019 and proposed to three years later, welcomed son Shepherd in January 2024, making Axl a big brother.
By Duhamel’s account, both households operate without tension and without drama.
He’s talked before about how much he values the quiet life away from Hollywood.
He has a cabin in North Dakota where he takes his boys, teaches them how to change tires and spark plugs. Real work.
Fergie, for her part, has largely stepped away from the spotlight since the divorce, something Duhamel acknowledged directly.
“Fergie is also very wholesome, believe it or not,” he said, “especially since she stepped away from it all.”
After years of speculation about what really ended one of Hollywood’s most public marriages, the answer turns out to be the simplest one possible.
They were just different people.
