Mike Tomlin Reveals 'Minecraft' Secret He's Kept For 12 Years
Mike Tomlin spent 19 seasons building one of the most successful coaching tenures in NFL history. Turns out he has been building something else on the side for just as long.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, now an NBC Sports football analyst, told TODAY's Craig Melvin that he has been playing Minecraft for over a decade and has a creative mode city he has been working on for 12 years.
"I started playing Minecraft, man, when my kids were young," Tomlin said. "I have a Minecraft city, I'm creative, that I've been working on for like 12 years."
The meticulous 12-year commitment is very on-brand for a man who never had a losing season in 19 years as a head coach. And now the pressure is mounting to go public with it. His oldest son has been pushing him to share the city with the world.
"My oldest son is like, 'Dad, you gotta share this with the world. People need to see this city that you've been working on for 12 years,'" Tomlin said. "We've been talking about it recently about how am I gonna share it with the world."
He has not committed to a timeline. The Minecraft city, like most things Mike Tomlin touches, will apparently be revealed on his schedule and nobody else's.
