Youtube TV Subscribers Have Until Tomorrow To Claim Their Share Of Disney's $50 Million Settlement
The deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday September 8, to file a claim in a $50 million class-action settlement against The Walt Disney Company.
The lawsuit alleged Disney used its control over ESPN to force streaming services like YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream to raise their prices, preventing them from offering cheaper sports-free tiers and keeping Hulu's prices artificially protected from competition. Disney denied all allegations and admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to settle.
You qualify if you paid for YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream, including earlier versions called DirecTV Now or AT&T TV Now, at any point between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2026. It does not matter if you canceled years ago or only subscribed briefly.
Individual payouts are not fixed, the $50 million is divided pro-rata based on how many months you were subscribed and how many people file claims.
Subscribers in Colorado, Florida, New York and California receive 90 percent of the settlement pool. All other states split the remaining 10 percent.
To file: check your email or mailbox for a notice with a Unique ID and PIN, then enter it at onlinetvsettlement.com.
If you never received a notice but were a subscriber, go to the same site and fill out the form using the email and billing address from your account. Paper claims must be postmarked by September 8. Tomorrow. Do not wait.
